30.01.23 — New Arts funding announceddisabled art a priority

Today the Australian Government announced its new National Cultural Policy. It’s been titled: Revive: a place for every story, a story for every place.

We’re feeling encouraged and hopeful about the new funding announcements, as Arts work is important work. The policy had this to say about supporting d/Deaf and disabled artists:

“Australian artists with disability are an essential part of a thriving arts ecology – they tell engaging stories and create exceptional art. “

We couldn’t agree more. Disabled art is vital, and we look forward to seeing more disabled artists and creatives being able to share their work with the world via this new funding.

Most importantly, as the new Arts and Disability Associated Plan comes to life, we hope there is consistent involvement of disabled people from the outset.

18.10.22 — Sunder receives funding from City of Melbourne

The team at Sunder are so thrilled to share that we’ve been awarded a City of Melbourne 2023 Arts Grant.

This funding will allow us to create Issue 1 of Sunder, and pay our artists and staff fairly — something we’re very passionate about.

We can’t thank the judging panel and City of Melbourne Team enough for supporting us to publish more d/Deaf, disabled, and chronically ill art. Watch this space for submission news!
